Karen Glass is the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Poverty Reduction Strategy with over 20 years of experience working in provincial government. She is a strategic, results oriented leader with significant accomplishments in program delivery, policy development and execution, managing change and achieving results.
Prior to this role, Karen was in Cabinet Office where she held two senior executive positions. As Director, Strategy and Results she led research initiatives, results focused projects and capacity building initiatives within the policy community. As Executive Coordinator, Justice, Intergovernmental and Aboriginal Affairs she supported ministries in developing policy, legislative and regulatory submissions.
One of Karen’s earlier leadership experiences was as Director, Ontario Works where she led key aspects of the transformation from a passive social assistance system to an active participatory program focusing on employment outcomes. Some of her achievements include the development and delivery of a wide range of public policy initiatives including the Ontario Child Benefit and Ontario’s initial Poverty Reduction Strategy.
Karen has a solid track record as an innovative, strategic thinker who leads teams to deliver results collaboratively and is passionate about social policy that achieves outcomes for Ontarians.
